Looking at the cloud purely from an IT infrastructure and cost perspective does not unlock the full value. The strategic goals to be achieved, especially from the business side, must be clear, and as always, technology, cost, risk and flexibility must be balanced to achieve these strategic goals. The outcome of a cloud ecosystem strategy should be a holistic business case that focuses on business value and a balanced vendor ecosystem to get the right portfolio of services.  In addition to selecting the right partners, it is crucial to align the internal operating model (people, processes, tools, etc.) to unlock the full value.
